Hello!

Due to in part lacking numbers, we may not be getting prize support for a few of the events coming soon. (We need 6 people to sign in, & play)

So, we are looking at holding an all you can eat event on the 20th of November.

For those unfamiliar with the format, you try & get as many games in as you can, & achieve various goals. Each goal is worth one point, which you can redeem for prizes at the end of the day.

Goals like:
Long haul flight: Throw a monster 10 spaces or more,
Storing the hurt: Gain all 10 power die in one power up roll.
Solidarity: Play all one faction
Bring the Burn: All buildings are flaming hazards.
TPK: Destroy all opponents units on the field.
Down to zero: Monster kill, from full to zero.
Smack down: 5 (or more) damage to a monster over one activation.
Pecked to death by cats: Monster killed by units (& units alone)
Feel the Glow: All buildings are Radioactive or Chemical.
Not the Pointy Bits: All buildings have spire
Welcome to Vagas: All monuments all the time (Limited buildings only)
Forward the swarm: All units on the field at once.
Yes Master: played one Frankenstein game.
Scorched earth: No buildings left standing.
Ballet steps: All buildings left standing.
Multi-cultural: play with a unit from each agenda.
Internal Strife: Play with a unit from each faction.
Blind Date: Sealed monster
Victory!: Win a game
Ignoble defeat: loose 2 games.
Whats in the Box?: Sealed unit (2 boxes, no swaps before playing)
Behold the glory!: Random point for something cool, must be given by another player
The Dice Don't Lie: Miss with 10 or more die.

There will be a surcharge for the game, of about $40. This will include some support from the store, & for the sealed games.

More goals coming when I think of more.
Feel free to suggest some Smile

From a Previous AYCE thread

Key Idea quotes.

We discussed at the last All You Can Eat event adding achievements to the list which reward in game actions and encourage variety to supplement the rather uninspired offering from Privateer Press. So I've come up with a the following suggestions.

By your powers combined: Played with a morpher.
Come fly with me: Played a force where all your figures have Flight.
Groundpounders: Played a force where none of your figures have Flight or Jump.
Globetrotter: Played on at least four different maps.
Urban remodeling: Destroyed a full city.
Monument Destroying Laser: Destroyed all three I Comp NY monuments in one game.
Yay me!: Won a game.
It was beauty killed the beast: Lost a game to a female opponent.
Here comes the pain: Took three consecutive monster turns.
Tag Team: Performed a combined power attack.
Up, up and away!: Threw or smashed a monster over ten squares.
Choked: Missed an attack where you roll ten or more die including at least one of every die type (Action, Boost, and Power).
Who are you calling little?: Rolled eight or more Boost die in one unit attack.
Cover them in Bees: Destroyed a monster form with units.

I'd suggest playing with at least 2 different morphers for the "By Your Powers Combined" one.

While the ideas of a all flight or all ground seem cool, there are about 2 sides that can not pull that off at least.
Which does force people to use different sides, or mix & match sides.

Up, Up & Away, you need some one with super throw, or have it as 10 spaces or more.

They do, on the whole, sound good though Smile

I'd suggest
It's Alive!: Played at least 2 games using the Frankenstein rules. (different alpha & hyper)
Tread Softly: Not destroyed any buildings
Just, No: Played a side you never have before, or have only done once.
Bloody Vengeance: Killed opponents monster the round after you got yours killed
Stale Mate: Killed opponents monster by killing yours.
Clash of the Titans: Played with no units but with 2 different monsters
Lonely Streets: Played on the same map at least 5 times
In It For The Long Haul : Did not give up, nor concede, nor leave in the middle of, any games during the day.

Well, PP have actually come to the party and provided forms for this one, but lets add the following anyway (I'll make up a supplemental form or something...):

Played a game with a full city that had all buildings destroyed at the end of the game
Played a game with a full city that had no buildings destroyed at the end of the game
Played with a full force where all your figures have Flight or hover
Played with a full force where none of your figures have Flight or hover
Played with two or more Morpher monsters
Played with every Morpher monster
Destroyed all three I Chomp NY monuments in a single game
Destroyed three or more installations in a single game
Took three or more consecutive monster turns
Threw or smashed a monster ten or more squares
Earned at least 8 power die with a single rampage
Missed with an attack where you rolled ten or more die
Destroyed a monster form with a unit attack
Rolled at least 8 boost die in a single attack
Rolled at least 8 power die in a single attack
Played a game on four or more different maps
Played four or more games on the same map

The rest of the suggestions I have reservations about, for one reason or another... I'll give everyone until Friday to submit additional ideas for consideration and then I'll print off the forms.

Also is it possible to have it on the 27th instead because I believe Paul works on the 20th, also could we look at doing this over two days Saturday/Sunday to offer a better chance to complete more challenges.

Once we have cemented when and how long for this event I suggest posting a piece about it on the events sub-board of the main Monpoc boards, so that the players from Auckland and Christchurch have a chance to join us.

This is replacing the event on the 27th... we have enough players for the event on the 20th, so it will be as advertised.

I'll let Susan answer whether she wants to run it over the whole weekend - in any event it's unlikely I'll be able to attend both days.

As it stands it would be replacing the event on the 20th, at this point I am just suggesting options.

No, it won't be replacing the event on the 20th. I think Susan has just got the dates mixed-up. The event I am running is on the 20th, the support kit for it has been sent, and it will be run as advertised.

The event for the 27th is the one which didn't meet the minimum player count to get support, so that is the event Susan is looking at running all you can eat for.

Thanks was starting to get worried that the one on the 20th was thought to be on the 13th, being tomorrow. Apart from that have any thoughts on any other challenges to try out for the all you can eat?

My bad, 27th for the date.

I am going through & culling the list, so if any one has any favourites, let me know soon.

I'm still working out the points per 'prize' but I have a fair idea. Mainly it looks like buildings will be the most expensive prize, as at the moment, there are not any in the prize pool Smile

Currently pencil in is:
Building - 12 points
Mega - 9 points
Standard unit - 3
Glass or Shadow figure - 2 points

Just thought of two more challenges to add

4 Star General: Whole force is made of Glass & Shadow Units.
Still Crunchy: Crush a Character Unit.

Okay, I think I have a fairly compiled list of potential achievements (Thanks Simon for the help there)

I could post it up here, but considering length, if you PM me with your email address, I'll lob it to you that way. It is currently in Open Office format.
If requested, I'll post up here regardless.

& As it seems about right at the moment, will be going with:
Building - 12 points,
Mega form - 9 points,
Character Unit (if any, which I doubt) - 6 points,
Standard Unit - 3 points,
Shadow Unit - 2 points.

No list of prizes at the moment, mainly as I will be scrounging what we have at the store & a few other odds & ends.

Cheers,
Rue.

I'll chuck a couple of prizes into the pool. You don't have normal monster forms listed - I'm happy to throw some of them in the pool - plus I received a care package this morning with Mega Voltron and (a pleasant surprise) Mega Lo-Tron - probably the only chance you'll get to win these figures in NZ!

I guess standard monsters at 6 points?
I'll be throwing one or two in, depending on what I find Smile
