Welcome to the fourth full meeting of the VUW Games Club.

We meet on Friday evening, centred around the Collins Room. Go to the Student Union building atrium and look for our signs. There will be casual board-gaming starting at 2PM and roleplaying starting at 6:30PM. The two D&D games have earlier start times, Zak starts at 5:30 and Dan at 6PM.

Divided Galaxies is taking a break this week, but Claremont Academy and Ardming will run. James' Call of Cthulhu games runs in the afternoons starting at 2:30, and has spaces available.

This week we will be issuing membership cards for paid members. Membership is $10 for the rest of the year and entitles you to play any of the Club's selection of board games and the campaigns; as well as a 10% discount on second hand books at Arty Bees. The cards will be arriving at the club for collection after 5 PM, so drop by.

We will also be collecting pre-orders for Games Club t-shirts this week. The exact price will depend on how many pre-orders we take, but is expected to be $20-$25 per shirt. Shirts will be available in common colours and sizes.

The club is looking at buying new board games sometime over the next little while. If there is a boardgame that you would like to see at the club, mention it to one of the exec members, or reply to this e-mail.

Also coming up soon is the Guild Council LARP. For details please e-mail Paul Wilson (pauliewilson@gmail.com)

Those who want to run games at CONfusion, Wellington's 'other' annual roleplaying convention should e-mail Nasia (soul_of_flame@hotmail.com). CONfusion will run on the 12th of August. More details will be posted closer to the time.

We have two single-evening games being offered this evening:

Burying the Hatchet by Michael Foster

London crimeboss Sharky is very angry, someone is muscling in on his turf and causing a lot of trouble. So he's called in his top gang of enforcers to sort things out.
Contains violence and offensive language.

Players: 5
System: homemade.

Star Wars: Chaos Rises by Nick Cole

It is a period of civil war. The Galactic Republic desperately fights for its very survival against the droid armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. Amidst the turmoil, Senator Dree Tekes of Malastere has been captured by the evil bounty hunter LURCONIS GHOS, further threatening the fragile stability of the Republic. A strike team has been dispatched to the Separatist stronghold of Muunilinst, to rescue the Senator from his captors vile clutches…

Players: 5
System: Modified Unisystem

Next week is the last meeting for the first term. We have The Quick and the Dead by Alasdair Sinclair (who ran Shopping with the Dead, and Where Zombies Dare earlier in the term) and Mutants and Masterminds by Nic Sando.

Next term we are expanding the events being offered, we will be running a day of Diplomacy and a Chess mini-tournament.

See you Friday!

Hey,
what will the shirts look like? Is there a kind of logo? Maybe a picture anywhere?
And what does it mean that it`s the last meeting? That only the roleplay game campaigns go on and the board gaming stops?

Sorry for asking that much but I´m new. Smile

The shirts will have the club logo on them. Large, on the front. The club logo is on the posters we put up before the meetings.

The games club shuts down over the holidays, which is I think, three fridays this time due to Easter. So, no board gaming. The D&D games will continue at diverse locations, while the one-offs and claremont academy will take a break.

Dans game starts just after 7PM as he has to work late, Players have been informed though.
