Luke, your game in round three, will it overlap into the LARP or just finish really close to the start? I would love to put my name down to play but am LARPing but can get changed pretty quick if I need to.

It won't overlap. It will be finished at 8pm and the LARP starts at 8.30pm. So provided you only need 30 minutes (and not 60) to get into costume and grab something to eat, you will be fine.

I suspect most 3rd round games will struggle to finish within 2.5 hours. It's not a long time. Hopefully the lack of the GM-pimping beforehand will at least give you actually 2.5 hours and not 2...

3rd round was not as bad as 1st round Smile

FWIW my own view is that 3rd round should go back to being 5-8, with a note to GMs to be conscientious about time.

Ah, but have you bound your notes in a spiral binding, with cross referenced t abs and a copy of the tax act in case the need arises?

Notes? What notes?

One year I am tempted to put in a half page of handwritten notes into the SDC Smile

Or ever, in my case. I GM better with prep and notes.

In fact, I mainly useKapcon's SDC as a process of improving my scenario's by forcing me to put my ideas into a more coherent form.

I think you should ditch the rest of your notes and run a game based solely around the tax act.

Or go existential - put a copy of the tax act at the head of the table and then sit with the players and let the RPGing commence Smile

I already do that at work, its called having a meeting with the tax team...

I prefer a backbone of structure then on the fly around that - much easier if you are in a campaign setting though!

I like to give new meaning to GM railroading. It isn't something that the PCs must follow. Its something the PCs are tied to so I can run them over with a train Wink

My regular group is VERY sensitive to railroading and not above giving me a annoyed face, then chanting "choo choo"!!

That's why you make it something to be feared, not to be mocked. That way the GM can say "choo choo!" and put the fear into the players Wink
