Hi folks,

Famous gamer Keith Baker is planning to stop over in NZ on a world wide gaming trip around Sept/Oct. We have offered him crash space in Auckland, and I believe someone else in NZ offered him similiar crash space. Was it anyone on here?

It was me! In a generalised "Wellington will take care of you" way as well as an "I, specifically, will provide crash space if there is no keen Eberron fan who wishes to do so" way.

morgue@gmail.com is my best contact avenue...

I have not a hardcore fan, but I have a large and comfortable spare bedroom and would happily host a fellow gamer for a night or two.

Sweet. Between us we will have him covered I'm sure.

Any Eberron fans who stumble on this thread late, feel free to put up your hands Smile

Awesome, he was hoping to spend some extra time in NZ while he's here and I thought if we could make suggestions of things he might like to check out between Auckland and Wellington for the trip down. If anyone has any awesome suggestions of things a geek might get a kick out of, please post on here.

I've already thought of visiting the Hobbit town site, and Rotorua for the hot springs and kiwi house.

Choice! I'm not sure who you are in the real world - have we met? (Give me a PM if you don't want to ID yourself in public view...)

You could definitely add Weta in Wellington...

This is still a go. Apparantly he's in contact with people in Wellington and Christchurch. It would be good if the 3 lots of people could converse so we can help arrange activities that compliment each city and each other. And are cost effective for Keith so he can stay longer...

I'm the Auckland person.... Morgue is the Wellington person... anyone know who the Chch contacts are?

Oh cool!

Looks like the Wellington people have accommodation covered. I know Weta doesn't do public tours but I know a bunch of us have friends who work there - so maybe something a bit more behind the scenes could be arranged? Not that Weta Cave isn't neat on it's own.

Maybe a tiki tour to some of the local LoTR film locations? Maybe even going so far as pinnacle rocks, with a stopover for lunch in Martinborough?

Hey folks! Yes, I've just started swapping emails with Keith. He's still working out his dates, but he wants to be here for four nights. Almost certainly he can stay here, and there are other folk who have expressed interest, so we'll sort it all out in due course.

Amphi - good enthusiasm! Smile

I am now a complete Eberron convert. My offer of a room still stands, but I am also keen to be involved in the social stuff too. Cool!
