I am not LARPing and I am considering running the demo of WFRP3e "A Day Late; a Shilling Short" on Saturday night (reviving an old Kapcon tradition).

If anyone else is not LARPing and is keen let me know (JonB will be joining us, so I am looking for 2 other players, maybe 3).

As a heads up, the demo is pretty simple (approximately 2 hour IMO = short is good) and so I expect most of the joy to come from fatigued fueled comradery and 3e's whacky game elements.

Doesn't Jon + Dale = some volatile chemical explosive?

I'll be in... but I'm not sure if JonB can handle more God of Sleeze

(<geek> Mega roleplaying reference... just say, never ask God of Strength, and God of Newtz (lubricant) to do just one thing for you...)

But I'm in...

Cool. That's Jon, Dale + Dan = WIN. Its highly possible that all you guys were in the late night Kapcon games of my past too.

Dale, do you have a copy of 3e and can provide the basic action cards for a 4th PC for the session? If so, we could go with one more player.

Next question: do you guys prefer the short (under 2 hours) simple demo, which does little more than highlight the new rules or would you prefer a proper scenario even if it runs longer? I know we are likely starting late (8 to 9pm) and Jon is getting old, but the second option is more hardcore (plus Jon can always nap whilst playing Wink ).

If the later: Dale, have you read or played Dead Ringer? It was an WFRP SDC winner that was IMO full of win? I think it may be the best fit for both 3e and a groovy one off (assuming people are awake enough for some puzzle solving). Alternatively have you read Noblesse Oblige, another WFRP SDC winner.

I'm hardcore... 2nd option, although cool with a shorter version as well if others decide to nap.

I can indeed bring cards so you can grab another player.

I have skimmed those adventures, but it was several years ago and I'd be hard pressed to remember any details. I don't mind what gets run.

So, anyone want to opt for 4th player?

Cool. I will either run Dead Ringer or an extended version of the demo using elements from Pretty Things (the 2e demo which was similar) depending on progress I make over the next 2 weeks. We will be using the demos 4 pregens for ease.

Or those disturbingly small "Shots" of V, Red Bull and Demon?

...lucky Party pills were banned - else they would be the bomb for Conventions...(more ofr staying awake than for considered player behaviours...)

We do, and he naps during play. Smile

Then again he is opting for late night Saturday gaming. That makes him more hardcore than three of you old farts combined Very Happy

Hey, there's a larp on remember?

As for "hardcore", I don't see you getting out there and beating people with a sword. Get thee to Camelot!

If there's a 4th place available, I'm keen.

I'll likely miss most of KapCon due to moving house over anniversary weekend, but on the plus side I'm moving in a place just over the road from the high school, and should be able to free up a few hours in the evening.

On the minus side, I'm likely to be shattered, but that'll probably just mean I fit in better with all the Con-goers.
