If you're going to be mock offensive to people, please quote the message your comment is directed at. If you're just trying to be offensive, please don't.

What type of events would you like to see being run?

The usual...

Would you be interested in taking part in a war gaming tournament?

No...

Would you be interested in a board gaming tournament?

Yes. Board games are awesome.

Over what period of time should these events take place?

I'm not sure I understand the question.

Would you be willing to pay to take part in any of these events, if so which and how much?

I'm not sure I would be willing to pay more to play boardgames, than to play roleplaying games.

For competitive events do you think that prizes should be awarded to the winners?

Maybe

Do you think that spot prizes (fair play ect.) should be awarded?

I think names should be randomly drawn out of a hat. Wink

Would you be willing to help with the organisation of an event?

Might be a little hard to do from Wellington

>What type of events would you like to see being run?

I think we do fairly well with BoD and a couple of BBQ/boardgames. If we didn't have a boardgaming group running tuesday nights at the moment I'd push for more specifically boardgaming events. I's also like to see a Bloodbowl tournament and at least two Wargaming tournaments of different genres - either weekend (although I think that niche is pretty well filled) or ladder.

I would also like to see another event that we promote to the general public beyond BoD.

>Would you be interested in taking part in a war gaming tournament?

Not personally.

>Would you be interested in a board gaming tournament?

Yes.

>Over what period of time should these events take place?

Weekend events are a PITA (to run). No more than two a year. One day events are good if they have a focus - LARP, board gaming days, mini wargames, same-scenario RP tournament (we haven't had one of those in my time, but it has happened and is periodically suggested), one-off RP day.

I think there's more that could be done with half-day events (4-5 hours), especially LARPs.

>Would you be willing to pay to take part in any of these events, if so which and how much?

I'm not a wargamer or a LARPer. Outside that - BoD is notoriously cheap for the event. Up to $20-$30, same as Kapcon. <=One-day event - gold coin to $5 depending on the event and location.

>For competitive events do you think that prizes should be awarded to the winners?

Yes. If only novelty trophies, a certificate and free entry to defend their title in the next event Very Happy

>Do you think that spot prizes (fair play ect.) should be awarded?

Yes. This encourages atmosphere and style. However again I'm thinking in the novelty cheap range.

>Would you be willing to help with the organisation of an event?

I keep pointing out that I've done my time, dammit! Evil or Very Mad

That said I'm prepared to be helpful. (I consider that the least responsibility tied to a desire to see more events of whatever type Rolling Eyes)

Just remember that it's not always obvious in an online forum.

For example: a weekend event vs several gaming nights spread over a term.
