Work sure is gonna drag today and tomorrow. That would be the case if I were working on something interesting, which I am not.

I'm so pleased that I took tomorrow off. Today is going to involve a lot of drumming of fingers.

I am fully prepared.. and have also been focused on the mental prep.
Some goods nights rests, eating well, preserving the voice... that sort of thing...

I underwent a gruelling training montage accompanied by a rocking 1980s Stan Bush number similar to that used in the training montage in the film Bloodsport, except instead of doing upside down chin ups in doorways, I rolled dice, ate pizza, and sharpened my GM-sledging skills with great intensity. The sequence ended with me running up the steps at the War Memorial and punching the air victoriously a-la Rocky, before collapsing to my knees, completely out of breath from this short burst of physical activity.

I think I'm ready.

My to-do list is crazy long, and I fly to Wellington tomorrow morning. Most distressingly, me and my sister's Al Shir-Ma costumes aren't done yet! Eek panic. I foresee 4am sewing again.

I have a lot of different parts of various LARP costumes sitting around ready to be combined into what I'm wearing over the weekend. Fortunately I play a Pirate twice so only a slight change with that one Wink

On the GM front. The game I was planning to offer as back-up has been swallowed until I can get it off my hard-drive (won't happen before Kapcon). So I will need to put something else together in an hour or so when I can spare it. Katamari is written, but I still need to tidy it up.

I'm so casual about GMing. But no one really takes me seriously as a GM right Wink

Oh and look at that... the nerves just struck.

Be one of 3 GMs running a LARP for 66 people? Sure! Peice of cake... Confused

Do you need access to a sewing machine?

You're doing okay. When I ran the LARP I had that from late December through till the day after Smile

Um, I do! But more like "Nick runs awesome games I want to be involved in" rather than, "Nick runs serious, ultra-prepared games that will make you think".

Pre-registration has now closed. For those who were wondering, we have had 124 pre-registrations, another 4 people who have paid, and 16 who have let me know one way or the other they are coming. This gives a confirmed attendance of 144.

That's an auspicious number. Someone should run a Hobbit birthday party game.
