Hi guys,

Here's the latest information about LARP's that are going to be run in Wellington. Plus a hint about games that are in the pipeline.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Bad Dreams: Alien", by Vanya Essin and Gareth Sandford.

Commercial space travel is a bitch. It takes up to five years for most shipping runs, that’s just one way. You get frozen on the way, so at least you don’t age prematurely, but it’s ten years away from the world, getting back into society is no small feat. Because of this, commercial space runs pay. They pay a LOT. Weylan-Yutani rule commercial space traffic, only in recent years did it finally get an opponent in Intelex Inc, two warring corporations make space travel a chaotic business.

You are on your way home. There’s over 50, 000 tons of refined ore in the cargohold, that means a big payoff back on Earth. Half way to earth the ship picked up a distress beacon, the AI: Mother, automatically defrosted all of you, never a pleasant experience. A small away team went to investigate. They came back with one of theirs in an incapacitated state. There are rumours that the away team made contact with an alien lifeform. No one knows what really happened.

Bad Dreams: Are all strictly R18 horror games.

Being run twice on the same day for 12 players.

When: Saturday, June 9th, 4pm and 8pm

Where: Vogelmorn Hall, Brooklyn - http://www.wellington.govt.nz/services/commcentres/halls/details/vogelmorn.html

"Quick Bright Things", by Russ Kale, with some help from Mr. William Shakespeare.

Mr. O’Strate’s seventh form drama class is putting on A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and he’s cast you all eerily well in your parts. Life is starting to imitate art… or is it the other way round? By the end of this afternoon’s rehearsal, the lovers might be reunited, the rude mechanicals might have their lines down pat, and Oberon and Titania might have stopped fighting… but as some famous dead guy once wrote, the course of true love never did run smooth.
A light, fluffy and overly melodramatic game from the authors of Wreck of the Philemon and Twelfth Night.

Being run twice on the same day for 20 players.

When: Saturday, June 30th, 5pm and 8pm

Where: Vogelmorn Hall, Brooklyn - http://www.wellington.govt.nz/services/commcentres/halls/details/vogelmorn.html

LARPS rumoured to be in the pipeline.

Monsters & Mansfield by Donna Giltrap as part of the ConFusion convention 4th August Brooklyn Community Centre.

'Dry Spell'- 1930s Chicago: The signatories of the Unseelie Accords have gathered for their annual meeting. But everyone has their own agenda, and the balance is fragile. Wizards, vampires, powerful Fae, gangsters, members of the Bureau of Prohibition- they're all here. Chicago may be dry, but by the end of tonight, the city could well be soaked with blood.

A game set in the world of Jim Butcher's 'The Dresden Files' (no knowledge of the books is needed, of course).

Also we hope to run Strangeways, Carry on at Camp David, One Night in Heaven, The Scummit, Asterix, Sebastian T Rawhide's Circus of the Spectacular, Delicious Friends, lots of games planned for 2012!!!

If you have a game you'd like including please send the details to bryn [at] me [dot] com by the 24th of each month to be included.
